Mission 11 - Sic semper tyrannis

Background:
Some people were asking me about the strange title of this mission. Sic semper tyrannis simply means "Thus always to tyrants". Since this mission sees the birth of the new alliance dedicated to fight against the tyranny or at least iron rule of the ISA/Vardrag I found it to be quite adequate for this mission.

Ship layout:
Daedalus- 2x MarkIII Laser 1x MarkIII light Laser 1x Gauss Cannon 1x Blaze plasma gun 1x Gemini Fighter 1x Serenity Fighter 1x Heavy Fighter 1x ECCM
Barbarisator- 1x MarkIII Laser 1x MarkIII light Laser 1x OSEC laser 1x Blaze plasma gun 1x Gemini Fighter 1x ECM system

Strategy

One advice: Never turn off your ECM system ! Many players find this mission very hard, one reason for this is that they sometimes turn off their ECM system (this can happen when you give a new course order for your ship). The accuracy of the enemy fire will increase dramatically, making it often impossible to survive very long.

This is just one way to beat this mission. It's also possible to use shield draining weapons instead of the lasers, it's just a little bit harder
This mission really starts after the negotiations are concluded. You are "right" to the station, the Yen-Lo-Wang is on the other side and the Marauder in between. The ISA ships arrive, and as you have been informed the Marauder and the Yen-Lo-Wang will engage the Dolores. The Dolores will engage one of the two ships, taking along one of the destroyers as cover. The other destroyer is free to engage any enemy ship so I can't predict what he does....not that it matters. The safest course is to sit back and watch the show. You should however dispatch your fighters (with the exception of your Heavy fighter squad) to protect the ship beeing under attack by the Dolores. If you're lucky you can destroy the ISA gunboats this way, just recall you're fighters if they start taking damage and don't let them come close to the Dolores. If one of the destroyers has engaged you hammer away on any devices you scanned with your lasers, the best target would be the energy shell, followed by the heavy lasers. By now your reinforcements should begin to arrive on the scene. As soon as the Barbarisator jumps in send her towards the Dolores and have her fire on the energy shells. By now, the torpedoes of the Dolores should be depleted, so don't bother targeting the torpedo launcher. The Daedalus should follow the Barbarisator and also engage the Dolores. Concentrate all fire on the energy shells and the shield (if scanned) or the engines (one after another). The Kissaki reinforcements are no big help in this phase, they will however be very helpful when the shields of the Dolores have failed. The Sovereign (or the Champion) is no big help in disabling the shields if you equipped your ships with lasers since she carries 2 energy shells. Have her spend her Gauss cannon rounds on the Dolores and wait untill an enemy shield fails so she can use her Gatling gun. If you have spare energy on the Daedalus have her also fire on the Dolores with the Gauss Cannon. Try to keep the Barbarisator alive as long as possible, divert extra energy to the shields and never ever turn of the ECM system. If the Daedalous is not being targeted by the Dolores and your shield is fine switch the ECM off and turn the ECCM on, this will greatly increase the accuracy of your lasers. This way you should be able to take down the Dolores, after she's finished you can apply the same tactics to the Destroyers.
